Kräftwärk – When art meets beer

The Kräftwärk workshop is a true microbrewery, where much of the brewing is done by hand. Our recipes have been developed over many years of brewing and tasting beer and refined over time to create our favourite flavour combinations. We use only the finest malt and the juiciest hops in our creations and mix in some interesting components like grapefruit and lemon grass to create particularly striking flavours. We have decided to solve the problem of shortage of space caused by passionate brewing by bringing our beers to the market

– because art belongs to the people.

Our story

The greatest art comes from the strongest feelings. The story of Kräftwärk beer started just like this – with friendship and love – when, in 2015, we decided to brew a special beer for the wedding of our current CEO, Ivar Pleer. But after the event we were just as excited about brewing beer as before and from then on, the brew kettle was boiling every weekend. However, the ever increasing amount of people, ideas and equipment around it eventually made us realise that we can’t go on like this – we have to open our own brewery. That initial excitement has evolved into Kräftwärk, a company with state-of-the-art brewing equipment and premises as well as an excise warehouse licence.

Our vision

The goal of Kräftwärk is to show that brewing beer is an art and a lifestyle. Malt and hops are as important to us as paints and canvas for an artist, so we take great care to ensure that our beers are made from high-quality raw ingredients without using any chemicals.

In the appearance of our bottles, however, we combine beer culture with visual culture, using works of Estonian artists on our labels. As the production of beer is a highly aesthetic and emotional process for us, it seems very natural to bring these two cultures closer together. The passion and quality contained in each of our bottles is reflected also on the labels, bringing Estonian high art from galleries into the daily lives of our customers – because art belongs to the people.

Our target customers are beer lovers who are always looking for something new and interesting and
whose refined taste enables them to appreciate the diversity and nuances of beer.
